Kwizyne (pronounced as ‘cuisine’) is a hiphop artiste under an independent record label, 1or8Faction.
Being born in Kenya and living in Hong Kong and Philippines before coming to Singapore, Kwizyne embodies the current generation of Singaporeans: multi-cultured, intelligent, and artistically expressive.This unique niche Kwizyne places himself in has lead him to become the 987FM National Rap Battle Champion 2007.
His reputation as a lyricist has lead him to perform at places such as Rebel: Boutique Club, Zouk, Esplanade, Wavehouse, Blu-Jaz, Home Club, Soul Club, Forbidden City Indochine, Marina Barrage for the Youth Olympic Games 2010, the Mosaic Music Festival 2011 and Fast Track Music Carnival at Mambo Beach Club. He organized parties and shows like Traffic Light Party at Soul Club and No Sheath And Holster: Rap Battle Exhibition with sneaker store, Limited Edition.
Apart from doing radio and TV commercials for Singtel and McDonald’s, he also performed for Dom Perignon’s Launch and opened for world class DJs like Sidney Samson, Angger Dimas and Bass Jackers.
He has released 2 mixtapes ‘Acquired Taste’ and physical CD distribution of his AKIRA Mixtape at all 4 major sneaker stores in Singapore. He’s currently working on 3 EPs, and released his first single “HELLO GOODBYE” on iTunes, Amazon and Spotify.
